Hampton Homecoming 2018 Recap: Alumna Edition
And just like that it's over. Now, that the dusk has settled, the vendors are gone, the alumnae are safely back home and the all parties and events have ceased. It’s time for the homecoming recap. This year’s homecoming was like most of my experiences at Hampton University, you make your own fun.

One of the highlights of the week is the tailgate before the homecoming game. Tailgate attire is as follows:
1. Comfortable clothing
2. Light sweater or jacket (it will be hot)
3. Comfortable shoes/sneakers/booties
The Tailgate is always an enjoyable time. The live music, and amount of students that come out is the perfect reminder of the fun of homecoming week.
This year for my outfit I decided pay an ode to black designers everywhere. I’m not one to spend an arm and leg to be fashionable. Yes I’m Alumna status now, but I’m still a young boss trying to make it lol. But when I have a look in mind I want to execute money isn’t an obstacle for a creative. I love clothing with a message and was inspired by @randomandchic , @slayforachange, and @harlemsfashionrow . I’m inspired by black designers and they often don’t get the credit they deserve.

I thoroughly enjoying mixing high end pieces with thrifted pieces because it doesn't have to cost be stylish. My biggest style advice for events like homecoming is to not break the bank. When you go shopping don't shop blindly. Keep in mind the looks you want to recreate and find the best dupes for that outfit.

Homecoming this year was cold so I made sure I had a few boot options. whether they were long knee high boots or short mid-length boots I made sure I dressed for the weather. It's no fun being cute and cold.
